Refrigeration System for Green Star Distribution and Processing Centre in Wacol Warehouse Precinct

A multiple condenser replacement project at a major processing facility for prepacked salads in Brisbane

The work involved replacing three evaporative condensers and three separate oil cooling water pump open type systems with two equivalently sized evaporative condensers and single common closed loop oil cooling water pump skid. Tri Tech Refrigeration Queensland managed to minimise disruptions to site operation while significantly simplifying the refrigeration system design and serviceability, while at the same time gaining valuable real estate on the condenser deck during the installation process.

First large scale +92° C Heat Pump installed in Australia for food processing plant

Tri Tech Refrigeration Queensland achieves a groundbreaking milestone with the commissioning of an extra high pressure ammonia heat pump, delivering +92°C hot water for an export abattoir in outback Queensland. This innovative heat pump, a first of its kind in Australia, operates in some of the harshest conditions on Earth and utilizes condensing heat from the existing ammonia refrigeration plant. It surpasses the cost efficiency of LNG operated boilers by 3.3:1, leading to an annual reduction of 600,000 kg of CO2 emissions. At Tri Tech Refrigeration Queensland, sustainability is not just a talking point but a reality, made possible by the collaborative efforts of our design, installation, and commissioning teams. We extend our gratitude to GEA Heating & Refrigeration Technologies for their invaluable support during the commissioning process.
